The path of Ascent is marked by Trials. We grow through Ordeals, so every work of the enemy serves a purpose.
Illustration: An Adept was traditionally blindfolded and bound during Initiation. It´s symbolic of the darkness we must emerge from, and the shackles one needs to shake off. It also means you must learn how to move in the dark, on instinct.
The Ordeal by Fire, traditional in Voudon initiations, and in legal cases since antiquity, tests the purity of heart. It will not harm the Innocent.
