The truth of the matter is, my fellow Black Magician, the Universal Law doesn´t care about your corporation´s Bureau of Public Affairs. It doesn´t care about its rebranding, renaming, or redesign. It is the same for everyone, for it operates from a mechanical, impersonal basis.
A true Black Magician knows this. It was confirmed via anecdotal evidence when a Master Black Magician confessed to his friend that he feared no spirit but Maat.
Maat, or any other embodiment of Universal Law and a Justice, is not to be feared though. Fear is the fruit of Ignorance, and Ignorance is said to be the Root of All Evil by the Yogis.
What I am saying is you are free to fuck around and find out. Karma, as the Universal Law, can be utilized and observed by anyone. It can be stretched out and screwed around, it can be explored, how far it bends, and that´s been actually one of my all-time favorite pastimes since the dawn of my soul´s existence.

Only a Neophyte or a Snake Oil Salesman tells you with utmost conviction that in Magic, there are no bounds. There sure as hell are a lot of boundaries, both of the Inner and Outer sort. Every actual Practitioner of Magic has discovered them, touched them, or more likely, hit them with their own forehead.
The subject of Failure in Magic, and the objective limits imposed on magic by Karma, are never honestly discussed, simply because, nobody wants to hear it. We are told anything and everything can be achieved with the application of Black Magic, and that is, certainly, our main selling point. You see? It is the point of going for Black Magic because that´s what they don´t sell at the other lemonade stand.
So here´s the plain ol´ truth, my friend, whether you´re a Warlock, a White Magician, or an Adept, you should know this…
There is, absolutely, positively, shit that cannot be achieved by Black Magic, just as there is plenty of aspirations with which White Magic cannot aid you.
Most people intuit the latter, but very few have learned enough about Black Magic to realize the former.
There are three things that elude the Black Magician: Love, Health, and Inner Peace, or Mental Health in modern lingo. It seems to me that when your main Allegiance lies to the Dark Current, you can have everything you ask for, but only one of these three, or, if you are in particular determined, you get two and take a big loss with the third one.
I have known a very skilled Witch who always prioritized her Health above all other things in her petitions to Spirits, and she managed to never see the doctor in twenty years. In fact, she didn´t even have health insurance, such was her confidence and results in this area. Since her Karmic Reservoir was full, she incurred full wrath in the areas of Love and Inner Peace. Actually, her love life was so disastrous, that her mind was in a state of nearly constant torture.
I have also known a Black Magician who impressed me with his benign personal life, right out of the gate and apparent solid inner peace…. Until I saw that his health was in constant grave danger.
My personal favorite flavor of the shit sandwich has been to choose Inner Peace over everything else and take the damage. I´ve had these observations confirmed to me by numerous spirits: Azazel told me once that I can ask him “anything but Love, for which I have to go to Lucifer”, and that he also cannot help me with my body because the aches are psychosomatic in nature and a result of being unfulfilled in love.
I went to Lucifer who had supreme authority over my destiny, sealed by numerous Pacts, and he told me “This is your spilled milk, I cannot fix that for you.” What he meant is we do incur Karma while serving these Dark Gods in their Campaigns of War. They will always have our back, give us favor, but there are limits to this – when deep enough, we cannot ask them for certain things because that is not how Universe operates as a whole.
Anecdotal evidence is the best illustration of these Principles. Black Magicians all swear by Black Magic until there is a real crisis with Health – then they all turn to Raphael. They all swear they can manifest love with their spellcraft, and try so obsessively until an innocent bystander brings the damning observation, in the form of an innocent remark.
A friend of mine recently told me, “You know what, Nora? You never see Witches and Warlocks grow old together happy with children.”
No, you don´t. But you often see them try to kill each other, wage never-ending wars with excommunicated brethren and indulge in all kinds of paranoia, and enemy plots. It happens between lovers, business associates, friends, and covens. It´s the murderous appeal of the Left-Hand Path, that doesn´t seek to discipline the Beastly Nature.
It would be easy to tell ourselves we should make love, not war, to let go of intrigue, and petty politics, but the truth is, we came here to wage War.
